From the streets of Ajegunle, Odion Ighalo began his journey into the world of football after first being discovered by Coach Taofeek Tiamiu(founder of Olodi Warriors Sports Academy, OWSA), who noted his talent as a young boy growing up in Ajegunle.

“At times, the mother will ask him not to go to training at all that she wanted her son to go to the university to go and read the book. She didn’t want her son to play football.

“So at times for training, I used to send someone to go and pick him for me because I can not boldly go to their house because of his mother’, Coach Taofeek said in an interview with sports247.ng.
